Guidelines for submitting communications and workshops

Both researchers and professionals in the field are invited to submit proposals for communication sessions, as long as they address the theme proposed by the Congress and adhere to the specific objectives outlined.

Professionals or disseminators are also invited to submit proposals to conduct workshops, with a duration of reference of 1 hour, which allow participants to acquire knowledge about methodologies, tools, or resources to work on or implement projects related to the event's objectives.

How to participate?

Instructions for submitting communication

The presentation of communications can be made in the form of an abstract or article for subsequent proposal for publication in the Mapping magazine.

If presented as an abstract:

  • Maximum extension of 800 words.
  • Since it is an event of international dimension, abstracts in Portuguese, Basque, Spanish, or English will be accepted.
  • Select the event theme number (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ...).
  • The presentation proposal must follow the following template: Abstract_FirstNameLastName_ThemeNumber_en.docx
  • The proposals must be submitted by June 15th, in Word or odt format, to the email geoeuskadi@euskadi.eus, indicating in the subject of the email: [JIIDE 2024-III geoEuskadi Kongresua]: First author's name and last name - Title of the abstract_Theme number.
  • If the abstract is accepted, it can be presented as an article.

If presented as an article:

  • If desired, the work can also be presented in an article for publication in the Mapping magazine, which will be published after the event.
  • Select the event theme number (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5).
  • The presentation proposal must follow the following template: http://revistamapping.com/normas/.
  • The proposals must be submitted by June 15th, in Word or odt format, to the email geoeuskadi@euskadi.eus, indicating in the subject of the email: [JIIDE 2024-III geoEuskadi Kongresua]: First author's name and last name - Title of the article_Theme number.

NoteThe communication can be submitted in the form of an abstract and later presented in the form of an article, in which case the submission deadline is November 30th.

Instructions for workshops

Workshops are an opportunity to present a project, a good practice, or expose a specific work with the participation of the public. In case of participating by presenting a workshop with a maximum duration of 40 minutes, it is necessary to submit a proposal including the abstract, the purpose and objectives of the workshop, as well as the audience it is intended for and the authors.

  • The workshop proposal must follow the following template: Workshop_FirstNameLastName_en.docx.
  • The proposals must be submitted by June 15th, in Word or odt format, to the email geoeuskadi@euskadi.eus, indicating in the subject of the email: [JIIDE 2024-III geoEuskadi Kongresua]: First author's name and last name - Title of the workshop.

If the communication or workshop is accepted, the first author (or the one conducting the session) will have a period of 15 days to formalize their registration for the event. At least one of the people listed as the author of the communication/workshop must register, and if not registered, the work will not be recorded and cannot be defended or presented. The certificate will only be issued in the name of the registered person(s) who participate(s) and present(s) their communication/workshop.

Once the works are received, no substantial modifications will be allowed.
